In the midst of intense speculation over Karnataka’s leadership, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will hold a dinner for all of the ruling BJP MLAs on July 25 to commemorate his government’s two-year anniversary.
According to official sources, the CM has invited all members of the ruling BJP to dinner at a downtown hotel on Sunday (July 25th). According to them, no legislative party meeting has been called as of yet.
There had been indications that the BJP legislature party meeting would be held on July 26 to commemorate the party’s two-year anniversary in office, and that some clarity on the leadership change would be provided.
Last week, Yediyurappa paid a visit to Delhi, where he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP President J P Nadda.
Some have questioned whether the party is now working out a succession plan as a result of the trip.
On his return from the national capital, Yediyurappa, however, dismissed reports that he was about to step down, claiming that the central leadership had requested him to stay on.
