Uttar Pradesh on alert after letter threatens attack on temples

An official in Uttar Pradesh said on Saturday that after receiving a letter warning of threats, the state has boosted security at temples.

The temples are being closely guarded, according to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), North, Devesh Kumar Pandey, following the notification.

According to Pandey, who spoke to ANI, “A letter threatening to attack various temples has been delivered to us. The problem is being addressed by police personnel. The temples are heavily patrolled.”

“Furthermore, the letter is being investigated,” he continued.
