UAE to Accept Indian Passport Holders Who Have Not Been to India in Last 14 Days

According to a media report published on Sunday, Indian passport holders who have not visited the nation in the previous 14 days are eligible for tourist visas to the UAE. Apart from India, the facility has been expanded to Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Uganda, according to Gulf News.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, only UAE citizens and transit passengers are permitted to fly to the UAE. The approval of tourist visas for Indian passport holders who have not visited the UAE in the previous fortnight coincides with the UAE’s gradual opening of its borders.

On the day of arrival and on the ninth day after arrival in the UAE, all passengers will be subjected to a Polymerase Chain Reaction test. Meanwhile, the UAE has said that travellers from Pakistan’s Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore airports will be accepted. Arrivals from Pakistan were previously restricted to transit passengers exclusively. According to Johns Hopkins University, the coronavirus has killed 2,018 people and caused 708,302 confirmed illnesses in the UAE.
