In the presence of party president Akhilesh Yadav, former Uttar Pradesh minister Ambika Chaudhary shed tears as he formally switched back to the Samajwadi Party from the Bahujan Samaj Party on Saturday. “I have a desire to see Akhilesh Yadav become CM again in 2022,” he stated, referring to his “rebirth.” His homecoming coincides with the UP Assembly election in 2022.
On stage, Akhilesh became emotional and brushed Chaudhary’s tears away, later tweeting, “Whenever someone related to roots returns, he further lifts up the building.” He also posted a photo on Twitter.
“You have grown really emotional,” Akhilesh said. Ambika ji is unable to express what he is attempting to say. I realised how much anguish he must have been in today. It will be my goal to gather together all of Netaji’s (Mulayam Singh Yadav’s) associates. I’m not sure how strong relationships can fall apart so easily, but things are looking up now.”
“Politics has its ups and downs, but a true friend is one who offers support at the correct time. The people of Ballia will play a crucial part in building the government in Uttar Pradesh in the coming days,” he remarked.
“Ballia is the same land that emancipated itself from the British,” he added. The inhabitants of this area were spotted voting in large numbers in the district panchayat elections. The Samajwadi community has the strongest ties to Ballia.”
Chaudhary is a strong leader from Ballia district and a confidant of former CM Mulayam Singh Yadav. After a family disagreement between Akhilesh and his uncle Shivpal in the SP clan, he defected to the BSP in 2017. With things between nephew and uncle returning to normal, many of the old guards who departed are likely to return to the SP.
