West Bengal Deprived of PM’s Schemes Due to Non-Cooperation of TMC Govt: John Barla

State administrative officials and police in West Bengal, according to Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs John Barla, refuse to work with them for fear of being transferred by the ruling Trinamool Congress party leaders.

The Vista Dome Tourist Special was flagged off by the Union Minister at New Jalpaiguri station on Saturday.

“Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi intended to execute several welfare projects for the people of Bengal, but due to the ruling TMC government’s non-cooperation, people are deprived of PM’s schemes,” he stated while travelling in the Vista Dome Tourist Special. I believe West Bengal would have progressed further if the state government had collaborated with the federal government.”

“It is sad that the District Magistrates, Block Development Officer, and Superintendent of Police do not assist us,” he remarked. They don’t even want to meet or speak with us because they’re afraid they’ll be transferred if they do.”

“It would undoubtedly restore tourism in North Bengal, which was terribly hit because to Covid-19,” he said of the Vista Dome Tourist Special.

The Vista Dome Tourist Special is a seven-coach train that departs New Jalpaiguri Railway Station at 7 a.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, covering Siliguri Junction, Sevok, New Mal Junction, Hasimara, Raja Bhatkhhowa, and Alipurduar Junction in six hours.

It will leave Alipurduar station at 2 p.m. and arrive at New Jalpaiguri Railway station at 7 p.m. on the way back.

TMC leader Firhad Hakim responded to Barla’s claims by dismissing them and calling them unfounded.

Barla recently sparked controversy when he demanded a separate UT for North Bengal on June 13. He said that his demand stems from a lack of development in the state’s rural areas for decades, as well as a terrible law and order situation under the current TMC government.
