Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the Congress’s Lok Sabha leader, wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, pleading with him to boost West Bengal’s COVID-19 vaccine quota. He also stated that the state’s dense population poses a threat of a Covid explosion.
“I have been informed that about 3,00,65,845 people have been vaccinated (in the state) as of August 2nd “In the letter, Chowdhury stated. Seventy percent of West Bengal’s ten million people are “still waiting for virus protection,” according to the state Congress president”.
Chowdhury asked the prime minister to “do everything is necessary” to raise the state’s Covid vaccination quota. The Mamata Banerjee government has accused the federal government of giving West Bengal with less Covid vaccinations compared to other BJP-ruled states with a smaller population.
