A big gathering of Afghans protested outside the Pakistan embassy in Kabul two days after the daughter of Afghan ambassador Najibullah Alikhil was kidnapped in Pakistan.
The marchers chanted anti-military slogans against the Pakistani system for failing to safeguard Silsila Alikhil, who was tortured for several hours in the possession of unknown individuals.
Islamabad police register kidnapping case
A kidnapping case was filed at the Koshar police station in Islamabad on Sunday (July 18) in connection with the abduction of Silsila Alikhil. Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered that the abduction case be investigated within 48 hours by law enforcement agencies, Islamabad police, and Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed. He also asked with all authorities to cooperate together with federal police to apprehend the suspects.
“From the market, she boarded a taxi to Khadda Market for shopping,” Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said in a statement. We were able to learn about this with the help of the Safe City Cameras.” Alikhil, he alleged, took a taxi to the Rawalpindi shopping mall. “The only gap [in the investigation] that we have is how she was able to get from Rawalpindi to Daman-e-Koh,” he continued. “We will show the complete, truthful image in front of the world,” Rasheed added. After Prime Minister Khan’s ‘absolutely not’ attitude gained widespread support in Pakistan and internationally, India is seizing every chance to ramp up its anti-Pakistan propaganda.”
