Have No Regrets, Ready to Face Any Action for Farmers’ Cause: Bajwa

On Tuesday, Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa said he had no remorse about causing a ruckus in the Rajya Sabha and that he is prepared to face whatever consequences for speaking out against farm policies. During a protest by opposition members when the House was to begin a discussion on farmers’ issues, Bajwa was spotted tossing an official file at the Chair after mounting the table occupied by officials.

“I don’t have any regrets. If the government does not allow us to discuss the three black anti-agriculture legislation, I would do it 100 times more “According to PTI, he stated. “I’ll be glad if the government punishes me for raising the issue of farmers’ rights and advocating for the repeal of anti-farmer legislation. I support farmers and their cause because I am the son of a farmer “he stated

Bajwa stated that they had “no other choice” because the government had denied their request for a meeting to discuss the repeal of the three agriculture legislation. He claimed that voicing farmers’ concerns was not a crime and that he has no remorse.

The government, for its part, has accused opposition members of lowering the House’s dignity by their anarchic behaviour. The government, according to the Punjab MP, is acting like the British, who “had to bow before the farmers during the pre-independence period.”

“These farm laws will have to be repealed one day because we will continue to fight for the farmers,” he added, adding that the rules were tantamount to signing “farmer death certificates.” The chaos in the Rajya Sabha, according to Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, is a “direct result” of the Modi government’s “mischievous policy” to “split” the Opposition and its refusal to address the repeal of the three farm laws.

TMC member Derek O’Brien tweeted a video of the opposition disturbance in the upper chamber after lunch as the subject on the farmers’ grievances was being taken up. He further claimed that the federal government was avoiding removing the agriculture legislation.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, on the other hand, claims that the Congress, TMC, and AAP’s “undemocratic behaviour” demonstrates that there is nothing wrong with the new farm rules and that the issue is their interpretation of them. He claimed that if the Opposition members cared about farmers and agriculture, they would have engaged in the debate and expressed their concerns rather than demonstrating.
