Aaditya Thackeray, a state minister, said the Mumbai civic body had revised the coronavirus reporting system in the last two days. The number of asymptomatic patients, hospital beds, and oxygen-supported beds occupied has been included to the bulletin in a new manner, he said, “to avoid unwarranted fear.”
In a tweet, Mr Thackeray wrote, “Fear and panic aside, utmost vigilance and Covid Appropriate Behaviour is a requirement since we are in the midst of the third wave.”
In the past 2 days BMC has changed the reporting method: added number of asymptomatic patients/ hosp beds/O2 beds being occupied to avoid unnecessary panic.
