Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi chief minister, met with Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal chief minister, in New Delhi on Wednesday. Mamata Banerjee was joined by her nephew, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Raghav Chadha.
This was Arvind Kejriwal’s first meeting with Mamata Banerjee “after her stunning victory in West Bengal assembly elections,” he subsequently tweeted.
Arvind Kejriwal stated, “I conveyed my best wishes and addressed numerous political topics with her.”
Mamata Banerjee met Congress President Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi earlier on Wednesday. According to reports, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was also present during the meeting.
The West Bengal chief minister described her meeting with Congress president Rahul Gandhi as “extremely positive,” and the two talked about a variety of topics, including the Pegasus snooping scandal and Opposition unity.
During her five-day visit to New Delhi, Mamata Banerjee is set to meet with other key opposition figures, including NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 40 minutes on Tuesday. Mamata Banerjee informed reporters following her meeting with PM Modi that the two talked on Covid vaccines and West Bengal development projects.
While calling for a Supreme Court-supervised investigation into the Pegasus snooping scandal, she also suggested that the Prime Minister convene an all-party meeting to address the pressing matter.
On Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee met with Kamal Nath, the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, as well as Congress MPs Anand Sharma and Abhishek Manu Singhvi.
