People from different walks of life will be included in Govt: Taliban on formation of govt in Afghanistan

With the date for US army withdrawal from Afghanistan approaching, the question now is what comes next for Afghanistan.

Sher “Consultations regarding the formation of an inclusive government are ongoing inside the leadership of the Taliban as well as with [people of] different ethnicities and political parties,” Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, a senior member of the Taliban’s political office, said on Saturday.

He indicated that the next administration would include people from all areas of life.

The Taliban’s Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai stated, “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is determined to building an Islamic administration in which people from all walks of life are included.”

“Currently, the Taliban leadership is holding conversations about building a government that will be acceptable and recognised both inside and outside Afghanistan,” Stanikzai said, speaking to Afghans via national radio and television stations.

He went on to say that all Afghans will be represented in the new administration, which will be constituted following talks with them.

Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai said that Afghanistan has been free of conflict since the Taliban gained control and former President Ashraf Ghani’s government collapsed on August 15. He asked Afghans to work together to “maintain the peace” and reconstruct the country.

Taliban fighters should not cause difficulties for the public, according to Stanikzai, and no Taliban fighter should be permitted to intervene in people’s personal matters or enter their homes.

Those who had fled the nation may return and resume their occupations, he added. He stated that Afghanistan requires you and your skills.

Meanwhile, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees estimates that 5,00,000 individuals may flee Afghanistan in the next four months as a result of political unrest.

While the Taliban has claimed that they have evolved or “matured” since their previous reign of terror twenty years ago, many feel that these claims are only public relations stunts and are fearful of what is to come. News of Taliban fighters committing atrocities seems to back up this theory.
