RRR Release Date Postponed Again Amid COVID-19 Spike

The much-anticipated historical action thriller RRR (Rise Roar Revolt), directed by SS Rajamouli, has been postponed again again due to an increase in coronavirus cases in the country and fears about the new Omicron form. The Telugu-language film, which stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR from the south, was set to hit theatres on January 7. RRR, which is produced by DVV Entertainments, has been postponed just six days before its premiere in theatres and before the huge promotional activities that are taking place across the country. The decision to postpone the release date was announced on the RRR film’s official Twitter account.

“Keeping the best interests of all the involved parties in mind, we are forced to postpone our film. Our sincere thanks to all the fans and audience for their unconditional love #RRRPPostopened #RRRMovie,” the tweet read.

The filmmakers stated in an accompanying statement that they are “forced” to not distribute the film due to theatre closures in various states throughout the country.

“Despite our best efforts, some things are out of our hands. We have no choice but to ask you to hold on to your joy as many Indian states close theatres. We promise to restore Indian cinema’s glory, and when the time comes, WE WILL “It was also added. As a yellow alarm was sounded under the Graded Response Action Plan earlier this week, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority ordered the immediate closure of cinema halls and gyms, as well as various restrictions on the operation of shops and public transportation (GRAP).

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, RRR’s release date has been pushed back several times.

The film is based on the lives of two early twentieth-century freedom warriors, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Kumram Bheem (Jr NTR). Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, both from Bollywood, will play major roles in the film.
