Sena, BJP Must Come Together for Maharashtra’s Progress: Union Minister Athawale

On Sunday, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale remarked that the BJP and the Shiv Sena should reunite because their split has harmed Maharashtra’s progress. Athawale further said it was “difficult” for the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and the BJP to work together because the latter is a national party and the Raj Thackeray-led party has a Marathi son of the soil agenda, speaking to reporters after attending a ceremony in Kalyan, Thane district.

He said the animosity between the Sena and the BJP that arose after Union minister Narayan Rane was arrested on July 24 for allegedly using a “slap” remark about Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray must end.

“Family feuds like this are unacceptable. It is improper to file a complaint against Rane, a Union minister, in this manner. Such assertions have been made in the past by the Sena as well. “The two parties must work together to improve Maharashtra, which has been negatively affected,” said the Union minister of state for Justice and Empowerment.

When asked about Raj Thackeray’s recent accusation of the NCP of engaging in caste-based politics, Athawale claimed Dalits had been tortured for the past 70 years, adding that the MNS president may have based his comments on instances that occurred in rural regions of Pune in the past.
