‘Should be Beaten with Chappals’: Uddhav’s Threat to CM Yogi Resurfaces A Day After Rane’s Arrest

An old video of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray demanding that UP CM Yogi Adityanath should be thrashed with chappal has resurfaced a day after Union Minister Narayan Rane was arrested for threatening to “slap” Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Maharashtra Police detained Union Minister and BJP MP Narayan Rane yesterday for threatening to “slap” Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. After nearly nine hours in custody, he was freed on bond.

A video of Shiv Sena president Amit Shah from 2018 has gone viral, in which he is heard demanding that Yogi Adityanath should be assaulted with a chappal.

“Look at Yogi’s appearance – he’s like a blown-up balloon. It continues to rise into the air. He’s the same way. He went to garland Maharaj’s portrait as soon as he arrived, but with chappals on his feet. He should be thrashed with the same chappals, it seems. Do you have any right to be in front of Maharaj?” In his rally speech, Uddhav Thackeray is heard stating. “This is how Maharaj is disrespected. And it’s not just Yogi who makes fun of him. This is the blood of the BJP.”

Thackeray was referring to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was campaigning in Maharashtra for the election, and said that a Yogi can’t be a Chief Minister.

“How can he become Chief Minister if he is a yogi?” you might wonder. He should have left everything and gone into a cave if he is a yogi. After sitting in the chief minister’s position, you call yourself Yogi? He can’t possibly be a yogi. He should be informed about Maharashtra-Uttar Pradesh relations when he visits Maharashtra from Uttar Pradesh, he added. “When Gagbhatt arrived from there, he paid Shivaji Maharaj so much attention during the coronation ceremony.”

The video has resurfaced only one day after Union Minister Narayan Rane was arrested in Maharashtra for using insulting language against chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Mahad court awarded the union minister bail late Friday night. However, this has sparked a debate on social media.

Rane’s detention has been dubbed a political retribution by the BJP. Rane was treated inhumanely following his detention, according to state president Chandrakant Patil, despite the fact that his blood pressure and blood sugar levels were above 500 mg/dl.
