UP Assembly Polls: Real Fight Between Me and Akhilesh, Says Shivpal Yadav; SP to Get Major Victory

Shivpal Yadav, the Samajwadi Party’s candidate from Jaswant Nagar, stated on Sunday that his party was certain to win the Uttar Pradesh elections by a landslide, and that the only true contest was between him and his nephew, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, over who would win by the largest margin.

He told IANS after casting his ballot in Saifai that he had won the Jaswant Nagar seat five times in a row with a large margin, but this time he is competing with his nephew Akhilesh Yadav to see who can win with the largest margin.

Akhilesh is running for the Karhal seat next door, and both leaders are hoping to win their respective seats by large margins.

According to Shivpal, the Samajwadi Party would win Jaswant Nagar and Karhal by more than one lakh votes.

He further stated that he has asked Karhal voters to give Akhilesh Yadav a record-breaking victory margin.

“Our whole family is unified,” Shivpal Yadav remarked in response to the BJP’s claim that he did not receive a place on Akhilesh’s campaign bus. “When Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) had me seated alongside him… it has been upsetting the BJP a lot.”

Shivpal claimed that the saffron party would lose in Uttar Pradesh and that the Yadav-led alliance would win over 300 seats, with Akhilesh as the Chief Minister.

In Uttar Pradesh, voting is underway for 59 Assembly seats. On February 10 and 14, voters were polled on 58 and 55 seats, respectively, in the first two stages.
