All Indians in Kabul safe, says govt after reports claim Taliban ‘captured’ over 150 people

On Saturday, several reports surfaced alleging that Taliban terrorists had kidnapped more than 150 persons, the majority of whom were Indians, from the Kabul airport area in Afghanistan. Government sources responded to the reports by saying that all Indians in Kabul are secure and that “authorities are in contact with them.”

“They were provided lunch and have now gone for the Kabul airport,” according to government officials quoted by ANI.

However, one of the Taliban’s spokesmen, Ahmadullah Waseq, has dismissed rumours that roughly 150 Indian citizens have been kidnapped in Kabul. According to local media, he stated members of the outfit were present near Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul and would not allow passengers to enter.

All Indian nationals are safe, according to the Indian government, and authorities are in contact with them. According to Indian government sources, a team of officials has arrived in Kabul to assist in the safe return of Indian people who have been stranded outside the airport.

Many Afghan journalists said that the Taliban seized between 100 and 150 Indians from outside the Kabul airport. Local journalists reported that the Indians were safe and will be returned to the Kabul airport minutes after these stories appeared on social media. The Indians were allegedly apprehended by the Taliban and taken somewhere for questioning.

Meanwhile, neither the Indian government nor US/NATO forces on the ground have provided official confirmation. The Indian government, on the other hand, is keeping a careful eye on the issue.

According to a source, Taliban affiliates kidnapped more than 150 persons near Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport, the majority of whom were Indian nationals.

According to the source, some of the people were Afghan citizens and Afghan Sikhs, but the majority was ordinary Indian citizens. However, the source and his wife were able to flee.

These guys arrived at the airport in eight caster-type cars at 1:00 a.m. today, but owing to a lack of cooperation, they were unable to enter.

According to the informant, several unarmed Taliban men joined them and beat them up before transporting them all to Tarakhil in Kabul.

According to the source, he and his wife jumped themselves out of the car on the way there and managed to get away. He went on to say that just a few others were able to flee, but he had no idea what happened to the rest.

The Taliban told the guys they were being escorted to the airport by a different gate, but it was unclear whether they were taken inside the airport or transferred to another place, according to him.
