Raj Kundra Case Updates: Crime Branch Team Reaches Shilpa Shetty’s Residence; Fresh Raids Possible

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s home in Mumbai’s Juhu neighbourhood has been visited by a Mumbai crime branch team. As they have arrived with Kundra, who was sent to police custody until July 27 earlier in the day following his arrest on July 19 in a case involving the suspected making of pornographic videos, officials are likely to conduct more raids in the house. On Friday, he and his business accomplice Ryan Thorpe were brought before the Magistrate Court after a three-day police remand. Police requested an extension of their detention in order to investigate the situation further.  The 45-year-old businessman was allegedly profiting financially from the unlawful activity of manufacturing and selling pornographic content, according to the police. The police said that they had seized Kundra’s phone, and that its contents, as well as his business operations and transactions, must be investigated.

According to a rumour, Shilpa Shetty, one of the directors of Viaan Industries, would not be sent a summons in the Raj Kundra case, despite the fact that the police investigation is focused on Kenrin, a UK-based firm that owns the HotShots app, where the suspected porn content was released.

Meanwhile, actress-model Poonam Pandey claims that Kundra approached her for the HotShots app after she filed a police complaint against him in 2019 for suspected fraud and embezzlement. She claimed that when she declined Kundra’s offer, he disclosed her phone number and sent her offensive messages.

Kundra is being prosecuted for the second time for allegedly creating obscene content. Last month, he filed an anticipatory bail application in connection with a case filed by the Maharashtra cyber police in 2020. The cyber police had also filed a FIR against multiple platforms in that instance, alleging that they were involved in showing pornographic content.
